Please view my other quality items for sale. Late 18th Century, CHIPPENDALE SECRETARY slant top desk with bookcase top. Bookcase cornice is beautifully inlaid with a dentil pattern above an inlaid frieze of geometric shapes. Doors are mortise and tenon construction with through muttons in a lattice pattern.

The muttons are striped with alternate ebony and satinwood. The Chippendale slant front desk has a gallery of cubby holes and document door. The three lower drawer fronts are each veneered in 3 panels to give the appearance they have 3 vertical stripes.

The drawer sides and bottom are made of pine. All three drawers are made by the same hand. The whole raised on bracket feet. Secretary is in two pieces which makes it easy to move. SIZE OVERALL: 83" tall, 40.75" wide, 22 deep.

Bookcase top is 40.5" tall, 40.75" wide, 10.25 deep. Slant top desk is 43" tall, 40.5" wide, 22 deep. CONDITION: Front piece of glazing bar has come off, it needs to be reattached... It's approx 6 long (see picture #3).
