EARLY 20TH CENTURY CHIPPENDALE ANTIQUE STYLE MAHOGANY BLOCK FRONT SECRETARY DESK. We're pleased to offer for sale this wonderful early 20th century Chippendale antique style mahogany block front desk by Maddox Table co of Jamestown NY. Founded in 1898 the Maddox Table company focused on recreating timeless American & English masterpieces with the plethora of new technology available at the turn of the 20th century.

As many of you are probably aware, Maddox eventually became the Amazon of their time. Many elements of their furniture were still hand carved and hand worked but a great deal of the cabinet work was done with band saws, novel industrial planers and much more state of the art machines.

This is one of their earlier and most desirable desks with the block front form & powerful ball & claw legs. The desk is in wonderful condition with original locks & keys present and a nice interior with a fan carved valence door flanked with 2 concealed letter drawers. The desk measures 36" wide x 21 1/2" deep x 41 1/2 tall. When the lid is locked down the writing surface is 29 1/2 tall.
