Antique Empire butler's secretary chest. Lovely solid wood piece with detailed carving and a beautiful veneer. In sturdy condition with three larger storage drawers below the top section. Top "drawer" face lowers to create a writing table and allow access to a multitude of smaller drawers. Wonderfully aged and worn with much of the original decorative paper lining the writing table area, and original large glass drawer knobs. Veneer is missing in a few areas with a couple small pieces left in a top drawer for potential reattachment. Bottom drawers stick and will need attention. Measures approximately 45 1/4" long, 23 5/8" wide, and 44 high.
