This magnificent desk truly is a rare find the design is 19. Century Paris at its best. The wonderful unique pattern throughout the desk is fantastic. The highly detailed top gallery and surround of the drop front and beautiful cherubs on the cabriole legs and bottom design of gilded golden bronze are gorgeous.

Craftsmanship such as this adds to the rarity and the charm. The inside compartments of the desk are quite useful with a nice writing space and a sliding compartment to store things and there are 3 drawers as well. No veneer is missing there is some slight veneer bubbling. She is quite an elegant old dame so these signs of age by no means take away her amazing presence and unmistakable beauty. There is a small key that came with the desk, it does not lock it but it allows the drop front to be opened.

After lifting the compartment the key can be laid in the desk area. If let in the keyhole and fully open the key will fall to the floor. This one of a kind 19th century quintessential French desk is an amazing find.
