Antique Miniature Box Drop Front Desk Cabinet Carved Wood

  

Unusual little box / cabinet / desk / secretary. An elderly acquaintance found it in her mother-in-law's estate but had never seen it prior to the clean-out. 10" wide, 12" tall 7. Lift top, drop front, and one drawer below.

Reverse painted on glass horse and rider. Appears to be missing an interior drawer. It was suggested that it might be a writing desk, but the writing surface would be just 8 1/2" x 4 7/8" and it isn't supported by pulling the lower drawer out. Perhaps made as a jewelry box. Really a lovely little piece.
