Century Petite French Carved Oak Secretary Writing Desk Louis XVI Style. Beautiful antique French carved oak secretary with fabulous detailing throughout. Large upper crown features center dimensional carved cartouche and serpentine beveled edging Upper bank of four drawers, each having carved foliate scroll front panels, flanked by carved keystones Desk top has wide carved band edging, with the main portion having a pull out feature to expand the writing area Two additional drawers below the main desk top, with carved foliate scroll fronts and carved keystone corners All four legs feature carved tops to their fluted and tapered shape. Quality throughout with dovetailed drawers. Well built by craftsmen of the period.
