Antique Secretary Roll Top Desk withBookcase 1880's-90s Rockford Union Furniture
Antique Walnut Secretary Rolltop Desk with bookcase on top. Made by the Rockford Union Furniture Company (Rockford, Illinois) in the 1880s or 1890s. It was my Great Grandfather's and has been passed down all these years.
On the Rockford Union label (pictured) you can see his last name, Smith - Somerset, Michigan - same as mine. Measures 82 1/2" tall, total (bookcase portion: 40 1/2", Desk: 42"), 34" wide, 11" depth (bookshelf), 22" depth at deepest part of desk. Bookcase and desk are two separate pieces (for moving). Beautiful carving is shown in the photos. Bookcase interior has been painted with oil based satin. Please ask any questions, I answer them promptly 7 days a week.
