19th Century Walnut Writing Desk with Hutch Top. This monumental piece would look outstanding in an estates library or study. This desk is crafted of solid walnut, with a drastic grain throughout. Some areas are ornately carved, as well as beveled edges and raised panels. The solid wood double drawer pulls, as well as the wood escutcheon's are a nice touch.

The desk offers storage at its best with 9 drawers, all which open and close as they should. Additional storage is found within the double doors on each side of the hutch top. Within these storage doors you'll find matching cubbies and envelope holders. None of the doors lock, as they were stripped of its locking mechanisms. The large writing surface area is slightly slanted, and it great for a practical work space.

It has been refurbished with faux brown leather, as well as the open middle of the hutch. This open middle area would be great for a computer monitor or small laptop display, especially with a wireless mouse and keyboard. This open area measures 24 wide x 19 tall. This piece was refinished at some point in the pieces life, but does show wear and is rich in age.
