Antique White Painted Gustavian Secretary Desk Bureau, Sweden. Stately and elegant, this tall white gustavian pine secretary shows off with the distinctive shape of the top bonnet or crown. Also known as a bureau, this secretary would have been a "signature statement piece" in a well to do country manor or large Swedish farm house in the 1800's. The white paint, which was added later, has been gently distressed as well. The many cubbies and petite drawers are a traditional element in a classic Swedish bureau such as this, along with the upper cuboard section resting upon the lower desk with 3 large, functioning drawers. When desk is opened, it is 30.25 deep.
