English Drop Front Secretary Desk With Side by Side Glass Bookcases

  
This vintage drop front secretary desk was imported from England. Made from oak, this piece has nice carving with glass front bookcases on each side of the desk. Each side has two adjustable shelves. The desk portion has a leather writing surface and is nicely fitted inside with cubbies.

Underneath the desk portion are three nice dovetailed drawers. It all sits on a base with cup and cover feet.

This piece was made by Taybro Furniture in the United Kingdom and the manufacturers tag is on the back. The desk portion has a working lock and key and each bookcase side also has a working lock with a different key. The piece is very sturdy with some age appropriate finish loss and some veneer loss along the sides. Please see all the photos for details.
