Lacquered Chinoiserie Oriental Secretary Desk Rare Excellent Condition

  

Lacquered secretary featuring a parcel gilt decoration in the chinoiserie taste. The top of the case has a broken pediment over two decorated doors.

The fitted interior has multiple storage drawers, pigeon holes, and compartments with brass pulls. The bottom of the case has a flip down writing surface 27.5 inches high.

The interior is fitted to match the top also having compartments. The entire case is decorated with Asian motifs in a beautifully faded gilt.

The bottom of the secretary holds two medium storage drawers and two large storage drawers, each with brass pulls. 40.5 in wide bottom. 9.5 in deep at top. 21 in deep at base.
