We are especially proud to offer you this Magnificent BELGRAVIA Secretary Writing Desk, in stunning Cherry Burl for Source Perrier. In great vintage condition, this antique reproduction is solid & sturdy with its original finish.

It is hand-crafted in solid hardwoods with stunning Cherry Burl wood veneer. A chest-on-chest design, the lower case consists of a slant top writing desk above four drawers. Gorgeous, book-matched burl wood grain character.

Reeded pilasters adorn the sides. The bottom apron is centered with a beautifully carved shell & Acanthus leaf cartouche. The piece sits upon bracket feet. When open, the writing desk top rests on extended slider supports pulled by antiqued brass knobs. Inside you will find five drawers & two scalloped trimmed open shelves. Center doors conceal space flanked by reeded pilasters with acanthus capitols. When pulled out, they reveal secret hidden compartments for private papers.

The top case superstructure is a marvel of intricate organization of space. Skillfully hand-crafted, there are 22 pigeon hole compartments with arched tops as well as seven drawers. A pair of panelled doors secure a large compartment flanked by reeded pilaster drawers.

Above them are hidden drawers embellished with stylized, hand-carved acanthus leaves forming a floral motif. The classic double bonnet top is adorned with triple carved flame finials. The hardware is hand-cast, antiqued solid brass.

For anyone who believes "there is a place for everything and everything in its place", this desk is the beautiful answer. I see no major wear, no repairs, etc. Other than normal wear from use & Father Time.

This was well taken care of, gently used. 44 inches wide x 24 inches deep x 93 inches high.
