Old Antique DOUBLE SIDE BY SIDE SECRETARY DESK BOOKCASE Leaded Glass GRIFFINS

  

Antique Double Secretary Desk Bookcase. Presented for your consideration is this beautiful antique double side by side secretary desk. It has a secretary desk with a drop down work surface in the center with two curved glass bookcases flanking it. It is made of dark oak wood with curved glass in each of the bookcase doors and leaded glass in the door to the compartment just above the desk. Over the top of each bookcase is a shelf with a mirror in the back wall.

The stand of each shelf is carved into a Griffin figure. The crown of the desk features an intricate carved design that matches the carved design found along the top of the desk portion. Along the bottom of the leaded glass door is a carved design that is very similar to the old man blowing wind pattern.

The drop down portion of the desk easily opens and closes. Inside are two small drawers and several shelves. Below the desk are three drawers with ornate brass handles. The cabinet is finished with carved, claw-like feet. Doors to the bookcases easily open and close and inside are three small wooden shelves.

Two of the larger drawers open and close easily. There is a ton of space in this bookcase and desk combo.

Great for storing office supplies or books. The bookcase is a great way to display collectible books, glassware or larger collectibles.

Great quality and guaranteed to be antique. This nice looking double side by side secretary desk would make a fantastic addition to any antique furniture collection and a great item to use every day!

One drawer and the leaded glass door are stuck shut. Some light lubrication may get them moving. The bottom drawer has different hardware than the rest of the drawers and one handle is missing.

The metal brackets to hold the shelves have been replace with modern day wooden dowels. Some chipping is around the hinges of the drop down desk and around the desk key hole as well. Wood looks to be free of any significant damage. Typical light wear from age and use. Overall in GOOD-VERY GOOD condition.
