Old Antique OAK Slant Drop Front SPOON CARVED SECRETARY DESK Porcelain Casters

  
Presented for your consideration is this nice antique drop front secretary desk. The desk is made of oak and features spoon carvings along the back crown at the top of the desk. The crown has scalloped edging. The slightly slanted top drops down to form a writing surface and to access the interior storage compartments. Inside of the desk has 2 folder compartments 3 small cubbies, 3 open shelves and one single drawer.

The top easily goes back into the desk when not in use. Underneath the slant top is a drawer which easily opens and closes. The front of the drawer has 2 ornate brass bail style handles. Inside of the drawer is lined with blue paper.

The desk is completed with spindle-like legs with white porcelain casters on the bottom of each leg. Casters easily move to transport the desk. This nice looking desk would make a nice addition to any antique furniture collection or a nice piece to put nearly anywhere! Two of the legs have hairline cracks in them but do not affect the sturdiness of the desk.

Some light denting is on the back plates of the handles. One side of the desk has a split in it along with two small chips. Light staining is on the base of the interior compartments and light wear is on the interior of the large drawer. Some water rings are on the top of the desk. Typical wear from age and use. Overall in GOOD-VERY GOOD condition for its age. Please refer to the photos for the best details. Measures 57 1/2" tall, 34 3/8" wide and 18 1/8 deep at the deepest point.
