SWC-Mahogany Secretary with Gothic Embellishments c. 1840

The country's largest collection of fine Classical & Colonial Furniture... Just steps from the RISD Museum & John Brown House. A Mahogany Neoclassical Secretary w/ Gothic Embellishments, c. The pediment is unusually stylized, as are the Gothic style feet. The mahogany is extremely figured and is in fine condition; the robust hinge supports supports are unusual.

This casepiece with traditional hinge lid was probably from a New York shop, i. Meeks or contemporary and exhibits fine cabinet construction throughout. All offerings are in fine condition with no major repairs or replacements unless otherwise indicated in description. Item must be insured in full.
