Vintage English Feather Mahogany Secretary Desk

  

This beautiful feather mahogany secretary desk was imported from England. The drop down desk is very nicely fitted inside with cubbies, drawers and a small cabinet.

It has a working lock and key. The platform has a leather writing surface.

It is held in place by pull out stabilizer bars. Under the desk portion are 4 dovetailed drawers. The piece is in good condition with some finish loss, some wear on the leather writing surface, and a few nicks in the wood. At some point in its life somebody saw fit to add chains to the drop down portion which was unnecessary because the bars hold the desk stable.

This means there are shiny screws visible on the outside of the secretary. Please see all the photos for details. The secretary is 29" wide, 39.25" tall and 18.25 deep.
