Vintage Mahogany Secretary with Pull Down Desk Two Part Secretary Desk

  
This classic secretary desk is made of solid mahogany (see label in photo). It could be a Jasper cabinet but I dont see any marks. It is two parts, base and top glass front cabinet. There are no missing wood pieces or veneer. The base and top cases have been hand painted a dusty medium blue. I did have some difficultly getting the color to come through in my photos. Please refer to photo #5 which is closest to the actual color of the secretary. The drawers, interiors of base and top are the original red/medium dark stain. The front of the drop down desk has been refinished. The base has 4 curved front drawers that glide perfectly are dovetailed and have original metal handles.

The ball and claw feet are in good shape, no broken parts but a little scuffed. The front drops down and is held in place by two wood platforms that come out to hold the front while in use. The inside flat areas show some use but in line with the age of this piece.

There are 5 drawers, one doored compartment and next to the door 2 pull outs. All inside drawers, doors, and original handles work properly.

The top cabinet interior is the red/medium dark stand and has 2 permanent shelves with plate groves. The glass is new the the wood fretwork is in excellent shape. It is a beautiful place to display dishes, collectibles or any items that you cherish.

The top has 4 screw holes so that you can permanently connect them. Base: 38 1/2"x 21 1/2" x 41 3/4"Top: 35 3/4"x10"x39 1/2", with center decorative piece (can be removed) 42"Both pieces 84" tall, add about 3 if the center decorative piece is used.
