Vintage Red Painted Chinoiserie Secretary Desk w Hutch Shabby Chic

  

This listing is for a beautiful chinoiserie style, slant-top secretary desk with an attached hutch. It is a deep red with painted scenes of pagodas, bridges and trees. It has 3 drawers and 3 shelves in the hutch, there is no visible maker's mark on the piece.

The desk has small dividers for papers and also an attachment for a light bulb, with a cord coming out of the back. It has a shabby chic look with some cosmetic wear to surfaces. Based on the age of the light bulb cord I would estimate the piece is more than 60 years old. It is 75" high, 30" wide (across the front) and 15.5 deep in the lower drawer section. The desk is in very good structural condition, it is sturdy and all drawers pull out well and the doors of the hutch open and close.

Both the desk lid and the hutch lock with the same key and the locks all work smoothly. The desk when opened is study although it sits a bit below parallel to the ground. There is a good amount of wear and tear on the exterior surfaces, as well as surface scratches in various places, especially around the pull down on the desk and around the drawers and sides. PLEASE LOOK CAREFULLY at all the pictures which show the level of wear and tear.
